KMTC Warns Against Fake Notice Advertising 16 New Courses for 2025 Intake

The Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) has warned applicants and social media users to disregard a circulating notice that falsely claims the institution is offering 16 new courses for March, May and September intakes. The bogus announcement—which surfaced in a Facebook group dedicated to KMTC 2025/2026 admissions—encourages students with KCSE grades from C-plain to D-minus to apply via a separate WhatsApp group.

“Are you among those who scored a mean grade of C, C-, D+, D- in your KCSE exams, and your dream is to study a medical course? The mighty Kenya Medical Training College has the solution for you,” the fraudulent post states.

With over 36,000 members in the group, the warning comes at a crucial time when many applicants are scrambling to secure one of the limited slots for KMTC’s September 2025 intake. KMTC has reiterated that all applications must be submitted exclusively through the KUCCPS online portal—other channels are scams designed to defraud hopeful students. You can access the official KUCCPS application system here: https://www.kuccps.ac.ke/admissions.

How to Apply Safely for KMTC Programmes

  1. Visit the Official KMTC Website
All up-to-date information on courses, entry requirements and application procedures is available on KMTC’s official site: https://kmtc.ac.ke/admissions.
  2. Use the KUCCPS Portal Only
The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) reopened its portal on June 23, 2025, for the September intake. Applicants have until July 7, 2025 to submit or revise their choices. Find the portal here: https://www.kuccps.ac.ke/admissions.
  3. Seek Assistance at Huduma Centres
If you encounter technical issues, visit any Huduma Centre nationwide—they offer free assistance with the KUCCPS application process.

Why This Scam Matters

Fraudulent admissions adverts not only jeopardize students’ fees and personal data but also create confusion at a time when competition for KMTC’s programmes is fierce. According to KUCCPS, there are 36 accredited courses available for the upcoming intake, including diplomas in Clinical Medicine, Community Health, and Nutrition & Dietetics. Attempting to apply through unofficial channels could result in application rejection and financial loss.

“Beware of conmen!” KMTC urged in its Facebook post on June 26, 2025, adding that any notice not published on its official website or the KUCCPS portal should be treated as fake.
